Archeologists Find Palace of Balhae Epoch in Primorski Territory

Archeologists Find Palace of Balhae Epoch in Primorski TerritoryFor the first time archeologists have found remains of palace-like constructions of Balhae epoch in the Kraskinsky Site in the south of Primorski Territory.

Earlier similar monuments were found only in the central parts of the region.

A corner of a building with columns has been unearthed during digging works on the Kraskinsky site in Hasansky District. Taking into account that the fragments are located in the upper building level, researchers assume that the construction dates back to the late 9th – early 10th centuries. It is the first palace building of the Balhae epoch that has been found in the south of Primorski Territory.

Near the building there are several smaller structures with their orientation and design coinciding with the main one. It gives grounds to say that these are remains of a whole architectural complex.
